answer homework questionsWhy is it that people who are unable to use grammar correctly feel qualified to answer homework questions?

I have read alot of the answers in the homework section, and I have to say a large portion of the answers appall me. Many people help students out with their english homework on here, when they themselves couldn't pass rudimentary 5th grade english; let alone advanced composition. I see a large amount of sentences that make absolutely no sense gramatically, yet these people feel qualified to answer questions that students ask pertaining to grammar.

Take this sentence from an answer I saw for example: "my stay at the hospital someone was having a liver biopsy" Now what the hell does that even mean? Were you the one having the biopsy? Was it someone else in there at the same time as you having the biopsy? Did you go visit someone having/recovering from a biopsy?

I understand the people are just trying to help, but in the end are you not just doing the students a disservice by teaching them incorrect grammar, and instead should focus your help to an area you are more qualified in?
Yes, it drives me up the wall to see such bad grammar and incorrect spelling. I think the age we live in with the text messages and instant messaging, everyone basically abbreviatesanswer homework questions all their own words (and not even correctly). They think it saves time, but it actually takes the reader a lot longer to comprehend what the heck they're trying to say. Sorry, I know I'm going a little off topic here, but I had to vent.....

I totally agree, however I'd have to say that people's lack of grammar skills probably has something to do with them getting others to do their homework online...... which is why I tend not to answer specific questions. SOmetimes I'll point to various research options if the questioner needs the help, but I am not going to tell lillte johnny or jane the plot of "To Kill A Mockingbird" because they're too lazy to read it or even rent the movie.
It's because people like to pretend to know things that they have no real clue about just because it makes them feel cool. Of course, they can't spell, use correct punctuation, oR fiGuRe OUt WHen tO UsE SHIFt. Humanity is doomed, that's all.

For example, I have a friend who was shocked when I told him that "ain′t" is totally incorrect. answer homework questionsActuallyy, he didn′t believe me. He could be one of these people who answered English questions incorrectly and think they know!
I think that people that ask for aswers about homework should not be critical of other peoples grammer. Especially since they are going to be in the same boat in a few years BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT DOING THEIR OWN HOMEWORK!!!!!

DO IT YOURSELF. The whole point of school isn't just about learning facts. It's about learning how to figure things out on your own.
Sometimes it's fun to make up an answer for the great unwashed, to see if they'll believe it. Does anyone under 20 know how to spell? One of my favorite bumperstickers has always been:
"Illiterate? Write for free help"
Here, they would! No wonder I'm cynical about future generations.
The fact that your question (I believe there was a question in there somewhere ...) was riddled with grammatical errors notwithstanding, I agree with your point.
On the other hand, though, someone looking for expert advice ought to consult an expert, not a random group of strangers. You get what you pay for.
